VIFF industry Exchange kicks off new opportunities for DE&I sector

Vancouver has for decades been a hub of high quality, creative and innovative Digital Entertainment & Interactive content. The launch of the VIFF Industry Exchange, which starts today and runs through Oct. 1, will allow the city’s cutting-edge content creators to now expand their reach by tapping into new online revenue streams.

“There’s a huge explosion of growth on platforms for online,” said Nancy Mott, the VEC’s DE&I business development expert who helped organize the event. “Vancouver’s always had content creators, and we’re on the leading edge of web episodes and creation, so this was a perfect opportunity to bring our content creators and buyers together for online.”

The new marketplace – the only of its kind in Canada – will bring online buyers to Vancouver to upgrade the screen-based community’s knowledge of key players; provide networking opportunities to further develop business deals and relationships; and help the city’s content creators develop their skills in producing and selling online content.

Companies sending buyers to the new marketplace, which the Vancouver Economic Commission is sponsoring, include Dailymotion, Vimeo, Yahoo, Endemol Beyond USA, VICE Canada, New Form Digital Studio, Fox Digital, Sony Pictures Television, STARZ Digital, Fullscreen, Cinedigm, Xpansive Media, Jumpwire Media, IndieFlix, Frederator Networks, CBC and Vox Media.
