From September 8th to 12th, Mayor Gregor Robertson and over 20 Vancouver businesses will travel to the Shanghai 2010 World Expo on a trade mission to promote the city’s leadership in the digital media, clean technology, and green building sectors.

The theme for the 2010 World Expo in Shanghai is “better city, better life”, and as a former Expo Host City, Vancouver was offered an opportunity to profile its leadership in the “Urban Best Practices” section.

The Vancouver Economic Development Commission, in collaboration with Vancouver’s business community, has designed a results-driven business-to-business program, which will coincide with Vancouver’s Green Capital Day on September 10th.

Leading businesses in Vancouver’s growing green economy, including the digital media, clean technology, and green building sectors are traveling to Shanghai as part of this trade mission to establish and develop international business opportunities between China and British Columbia.

Supporting information for businesses interested in enhancing their trade and investment connections with the Chinese market can be found here, including backgrounders on ‘Doing Business with China’ and ‘Doing Business with Canada’.
