News Teaser:
VEDC has completed research into the green technology sector in the Lower Mainland, which includes a report and interactive maps of innovative technology projects and companies in the region.

From February to May, 2009, VEDC undertook research in conjunction with the Centre for Sustainability and Social Innovation at UBC, to determine the Vancouver region’s demonstrated strengths in green technologies. The researcher, Jeetesh Rup, under the supervision of Dr. James Tansey, undertook an intensive program of outreach to companies to determine which local firms provide innovative technologies and services, and where these are showcased within the region. The green technology project and company maps are the fruits of this research, and his findings on the region’s technology sector are summarized in the report “Green Technology in Vancouver: Demonstrated Strengths & Industry Challenges.”

Due to the fast-evolving nature of this industry, and new projects and companies that are emerging, VEDC will attempt to update the company and project maps on an ongoing basis. An email link will be supplied shortly for new projects or companies to be submitted to the map.
