Sustainable Brands Vancouver - Supported by the Vancouver Economic Commission

Redesigning the Good Life

Join us in transforming business to meet society’s changing needs

The VEC at Sustainable Brands

In recognition of the city’s continued green leadership, Sustainable Brands is bringing their flagship North American conference to Vancouver for the first time.

The Vancouver Economic Commission and City of Vancouver are working closely with Sustainable Brands to develop conference sessions, workshops, and targeted B2B meetings to connect Vancouver’s business leaders to the incoming global brands that are tackling social, environmental, and cultural challenges.

Impact & Green Jobs: Winning the Global Race for Talent

The desire to work for companies that have a purpose beyond making a profit has never been more pronounced. This is reflected in the incredible growth we’ve seen in Vancouver’s social venture sector and green economy in recent years. The social venture sector grew by 35% from 2010 to 2015 alone, bringing in more than $500M in annual earnings and employing more than 13,000 people.

As further evidence of this trend, Vancouver’s green jobs have increased by more than 50% between 2010 and 2016, driven by new growth in the cleantech sector, and the transformation of important industries like local food and construction. Green and impact jobs have never held more relevance to the modern workforce.
